How to Schedule a Vaccination Appoinment: Online: Request an appointment and pre-register online at www.CatawbaVaccine.org. After you complete your online pre-registration, you will receive a call back to schedule your appointment. By Phone: Call Catawba County Public Health COVID-19 Vaccination Line (828-695-6650 / Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm) or or Catawba Valley Medical Group Patient Vaccine Line (828-326-3993 / for CVMG patients only). Please note the phone lines are experiencing a high volume of calls and longer than usual wait times, which may make it difficult to get through.
Due to the continued heavy demand for appointments and limited vaccine supply, appointments requested both online and by phone are currently being scheduled several weeks out.
What to Expect When You Request an Appointment Online: www.CatawbaVaccine.org provides a convenient option for appointment requests without requiring someone to spend time waiting to connect with an appointment specialist by phone. Appointments requested through the website are being scheduled by Catawba County Public Health, Catawba Valley Health System (CVHS) and Frye Regional Medical Center (FRMC).
To complete an online appointment request, individuals will be asked to confirm their eligibility and then complete and submit a form with their first name, last name, an e-mail address to receive information to complete the pre-registration process, and the phone number where they can be reached by an appointment specialist. A separate form must be filled out for each person requesting an appointment. Only one request per person will be accepted.
Individuals who submit the form will receive an e-mail from NC CVMS, the state’s vaccine registration site, with a link to complete their appointment pre-registration online and verify their vaccine eligibility with the state system. Individuals are asked to complete the online pre-registration within 24 hours of receiving the e-mail from NC CVMS.
From there, an appointment specialist from CVHS, FRMC, or Public Health will call the phone number provided to schedule the appointment. People who have caller ID are advised to note that their phone may not recognize this call as coming from an appointment scheduler.
Individuals will be provided with the date, time and location of their appointment, along with any other information they may need. They will also be informed about how and when to schedule their appointment for their second dose of the vaccine.
What to Expect When You Call to Make an Appointment: The COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment Line (828-695-6650) is currently experiencing an extremely high volume of calls and longer than usual wait times.
We will be working over the next several weeks to schedule appointments for everyone who is eligible and wants to be vaccinated.
If you are calling during appointment hours (M-F, 8a-5p) and receive our recorded message, please stay on the line and allow it to ring until an appointment specialist is available to answer your call.
If you cannot get through to make your appointment when you call, please call back in a few hours or on another day when call volume may not be as high. Do not call multiple times in a row, as this will continue to overwhelm the system.
We are continuing to expand our phone system and add appointment specialists to help manage the volume of calls we are receiving.
There Will Be Enough Vaccine for Everyone Who Is Eligible over the Next Several Weeks. Everyone who is currently eligible will have the opportunity to get the vaccine over the next several weeks.
Because of the large number of residents who are currently eligible for the vaccine, it will take several weeks to get everyone scheduled for an appointment. We cannot schedule everyone all at once.
To help ensure vaccine availability, we are actively managing our appointment schedule to align with the amount of vaccine we anticipate receiving on a weekly basis. This means everyone who is eligible for the vaccine will have an opportunity to receive it over the coming weeks.
